How Does HALO Laser Work?

HALO™ uses a unique hybrid fractional laser technology that combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. This allows us to target both the surface and deeper layers of the skin simultaneously, promoting collagen production and stimulating new skin cell growth.

The ablative laser removes the top layer of skin, while the non-ablative laser heats the underlying tissue. This combined effect results in dramatic improvements in skin texture, tone, and elasticity.

With the help of just one to two HALO™ skin resurfacing treatment sessions, patients can see a visible improvement in their acne scarring, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, and general signs of aging.

FAQs

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about HALO™ laser skin resurfacing we have answers:

What Is HALO Laser Skin Resurfacing Recovery Like?

Most people experience minimal downtime following HALO™ treatment. You may experience some redness, swelling, and peeling for a few days. However, you should be able to return to most of your normal activities within a week.

How Soon Will I See Results After a HALO Treatment?

You will start to see noticeable results within a few weeks of your HALO™ treatment. However, optimal results may take up to 3 months to appear as your skin continues to produce new collagen.

What’s the difference between ablative and non-ablative lasers?

Ablative lasers remove the top layer of skin, which can result in more dramatic results but also longer downtime. Non-ablative lasers do not remove skin tissue, but instead heat the underlying dermis to stimulate collagen production. This results in less downtime but also less dramatic results.

What does “hybrid fractional” really mean?

The “hybrid” part of HALO™ refers to the fact that it combines both ablative and non-ablative laser technologies. The “fractional” part refers to the fact that the laser only treats a small fraction of the skin at a time. This allows for faster healing and reduced risk of side effects.

Why the name HALO?

The name HALO™ stands for “Hybrid Ablative and Non-Ablative Laser Option.” It is also a reference to the fact that the laser can create a “halo” effect around the treated area, which further enhances the results.

How do I need to prepare for a HALO treatment?

You will need to avoid sun exposure and tanning for several weeks before your treatment. You may also need to stop taking certain medications or supplements. Your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for your treatment.

What are the side effects of Halo Laser?

While the Halo laser delivers impressive results, it’s crucial to be aware of potential side effects. These typically include redness, swelling, warmth, prickling, peeling, and dryness. In rarer cases, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, scarring, or infection may occur. By following our instructions, and practicing proper aftercare, you can minimize side effects and enjoy the transformative benefits of the Halo laser.
