It may take three to five days for Botox to start taking effect but a full 2-3 weeks to see the complete and final results of the treatment. Once the injection has taken effect, wrinkles should start to appear more smooth. In general, you can expect to see results last for three to five months. The results are not permanent. However, and can vary from person to person and one’s metabolism.
- In general the results of Botox peak around the 2nd week, and stay similar to this effect around 2-6 or 2-8 weeks. Depending on the dosage and one’s individual metabolic rate, the results slowly wear off around the 3-5 month mark.
- On average when someone is first starting Botox but has many wrinkles, they may find that with regular Botox every 3-4 months. They will have continued softening of deeper lines after their 2nd or 3rd treatment.
- When clients prefer to treat with Botox once or twice a year, let’s say for a special occasion, they may achieve a desired temporary smooth appearance. However, this is more temporary than someone receiving regular Botox. Also, they may or may not be able to prevent deeper lines from setting in if only treating 1-2x per year vs clients receiving Botox regularly 3-4 times per year.
- We often educate clients that, dosage equals duration. It means the more units we do in one setting, this is equivalent to the lasting effect.
In general, the results of Botox will last anywhere from three to five months. Although this can vary from person to person due to each client’s unique anatomy and metabolic rate.
