The Science Behind Your Confidence.

How Does Botox® Work?
Botox® uses a specialized active ingredient called botulinum toxin. When injected into your treated areas, this active ingredient temporarily blocks nerve signals that cause the muscles in these areas to contract and move. This allows you to keep being your expressive, authentic self while preventing your skin from folding and causing unwanted fine lines and wrinkles. Botox® treatments help our patients level up their skin’s radiance and prevent further signs of aging from appearing.
Your Glow Theory Experience
01
Your Consultation
During your private consultation with our aesthetics expert, we will take the time to determine whether Botox® is right for you. In addition to taking photos of your treatment area, your aesthetics professional will assess your skin and develop a tailored treatment plan to help you level up your look.
02
Preparation
When preparing for your treatment, we will clean your treatment areas to ensure your skin is free of any excess makeup and oils. If you’re concerned about staying comfortable throughout your treatment, let us know, so we can better assist you.
03
Pre-Injection
Your aesthetics professional will ask you to make a series of facial expressions to map out your treatment areas. By smiling and squinting, we can get a full view of where your Botox® treatments will enhance your natural radiance.
04
The Injection Process
A series of injections will be made into your treatment area using the mapping made pre-injection. This entire treatment process typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
05
Post-Treatment
Following Botox® treatments, most of our patients are able to return to their normal daily activities, including work or school. While our aesthetics professionals advise patients not to exercise or lay down for four hours following treatment, there is no required downtime or recovery period after Botox®.

More About Botox

Botox Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is made from highly purified botulinum toxin. This protein, first identified in 1895, inhibits certain chemicals in the muscle that allow contraction to take place. When superifically injected into the targeted muscle groups, the inhibited muscles become more smooth; in turn, the overlying skin appears more smooth with less fine lines and wrinkles in the areas of treatment.  Botox for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles has now been used safely for over 20 years!  It is estimated that 4.4 million Botox treatments will be performed in 2022.
