Botox® contains a purified protein, onabotulinumtoxinA, that blocks the nerve signal telling a muscle to contract. When a treated muscle relaxes, the skin above it stops folding into a crease, so lines from frowning, squinting and raising your brows soften.
The muscles we don’t treat keep working as usual, which is why well-placed Botox still lets you look like yourself. With regular treatment, the muscle also gets used to contracting less, which helps stop lines from deepening over time.

Botox in Carlsbad costs $14 per unit at Glow Theory, or $11.90 per unit for VIP members. Most single areas take 12–30 units, so treating one area typically costs $168–$420, and we confirm your exact total before treatment.
Yes. New clients pay $10 per unit for Botox with a 40-unit minimum, used within one or two visits. The offer cannot be combined with other promotions.
Forehead lines usually take 12–30 units, frown lines 15–30, crow’s feet 16–30 and a lip flip 4–8. Jawline slimming (masseter) typically takes 30–50 units. Your dose depends on muscle strength and the result you want, and is set at consultation.
Masseter Botox for jawline slimming or TMJ typically takes 30–50 units, which costs $420–$700 at Glow Theory, or $357–$595 for VIP members.
A Botox lip flip typically takes 4–8 units, which costs $56–$112 at Glow Theory. A $150 minimum visit fee applies when a lip flip or gummy smile is treated on its own.
Healthy adults with lines that show when they frown, squint or raise their brows are usually good candidates, as are people who want to slim the jaw or ease clenching. Botox isn’t offered during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, or for some neuromuscular conditions; we review your medical history at your consultation.

Botox typically lasts 3–4 months. The effect fades gradually as movement returns, so most patients rebook every three to four months to keep their result.
You’ll usually notice lines softening within 3–7 days, with the full effect at about two weeks. That’s when we see you for your follow-up.
Not when Botox is dosed well. We dose each muscle to soften lines while keeping your natural expression. If you prefer a lighter result, Baby Botox uses smaller doses, and we can always add a little more at your two-week follow-up.
Most patients describe a quick pinch. The needles are very fine and the injections take 10–15 minutes; topical numbing is available if you’d like it.
Both are botulinum toxin type A and work the same way. Dysport can take effect slightly sooner and spreads a little wider, which can suit larger areas such as the forehead. Your injector will recommend the better fit for each area.
